Brushtail Possum Dreaming Aboriginal Art Ladies Bag
This handy carry bag features a Judith Nangarrayi Martin Aboriginal art print called Brushtail Possum Dreaming. It measures 46cm (L) x 34cm (H) and is made from canvas cotton. Judith paints her father’s Jukurrpa (Dreamings), that include Janganpa Jukurrpa (Brush Tail Possum Dreaming, as shown on this bag) and Yankirri Jukurrpa (Emu Dreaming). These Dreamings have been passed down through the generations for millennia and relate directly to the land, its features and the animals and plants that inhabit it.
Judith was born in 1976 in Alice Springs Hospital, the closest hospital to Yuendumu, a remote Aboriginal community 290 km north-west of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia. Judith has been painting with the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation, an Aboriginal owned and governed art centre located in Yuendumu, since 1994.
